Job Description

MSS Executive Search are currently looking to recruit an experienced Area Sales Manager in the Humber area. Our client, a leading supplier of waste management and environmental services, is looking to expand their already successful sales team. 

The main purpose of the role will be to retain and develop existing customers by offering a consultative, expert proposition that suits the customer’s needs. Pro-actively generate and identify new business opportunities (pipeline) from either self-sourced or qualified company leads. 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

* To achieve or exceed set targets and KPIs on a monthly basis

* Develop, present and successfully sell the company’ services to new and existing clients

* Plan and implement new business strategy to identify specific customer targets 

* Manage, develop and progress with self-sourced or company generated leads and referrals resulting from field activity

* Prepare presentations, proposals and effective sales contracts to be delivered to internal and external parties

* Establish, develop and maintain current client and potential client relationships; ensuring each contact has an appropriate customer contact plan to ensure the right level of contact is maintained 

* Develop current client relationships by carrying out a full audit/review of the customer’s assets, ensuring that the customer is aware of the Company’s full sales and service proposition

* Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or market feedback/development gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff

* Ensure all activity is recorded accurately on CRM

Knowledge and Experience:

* Self-driven ability to succeed

* Experience within Waste Management or Environmental Services 

* Proven ability to persuade and influence others and strong negotiation skills

* Ability to develop and deliver presentations of a high professional standard

* Ability to create, compose and edit written sales proposals and materials

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively interact, engage and communicate with company decision makers at all levels

* Strong organisational skills

* Plan active participation in marketing events, such as seminars, trade shows and telemarketing events

* Have a thorough knowledge of the market in which customers operate; be aware of customer trends and act on these appropriately

* Ability to report and forecast accurately

The role will include travel so applicants must hold a valid and clean driver’s license.
